Steele Wool Farm is a family owned and operated sheep farm near Auburn, Ontario. Our flock of almost 200 Dorset and North Country Cheviot cross ewes, graze most of our 100 acres from May until late November. We use a rotational grazing system where the sheep are moved to fresh pasture daily which is better for the sheep and also improves our soil and supports a number of bird and insect species. We believe grass fed meat is also more nutritious! We sell grass fed freezer lamb, pastured poultry and washable sheepskins and we send our fleece to Prince Edward Island to be made into yarn and blankets. Wool is a natural fibre and is a good insulator while being extremely breathable. Our yarn is also available in Blyth at Stitches with a Twist. Want to come for a visit?
