Part II Bistro has been open in Goderich for almost a month, and we have been hearing rave reviews! So we decided to head there for dinner on a snowy evening. The space has been updated from the last owner and has a casual feel with a friendly atmosphere.
The first course was a pickerel cheek chowder. The ingredients include: Pickerel Cheek, Onion, Garlic, Celery, Carrot, Rutabaga, Potato, Fire-Roasted Tomato, Parsley, and Cream. The flavours of this hearty soup were wonderful and the garlic bread crostini on the side made it a meal in itself.
For the main course I had an amazing and tender beef rib with peas, parsnips, carrots and rice. As you can see, my dining partner had lake trout with mashed potatoes and peas. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and every plate in the room was empty when they were finished!
I plan to head back to Part II often, lunches and dinners are served here and they have great local food specials every day. Plus they have a location in Blyth! The food there is really great and the two locations have separate menus. They pride themselves on using local food and Chef Peter creates glorious meal options!
