I finally made it out to Cowbell Brewery in Blyth a couple of weeks ago and the experience was awesome. The new space, which opened last summer, has been built to last. The brewery, restaurant, store and office building heads up the 111 acres on the property and the company has so much more planned!
I really can't wait to see what more they have to offer. Anyway, their classic burger is AMAZING. Cooked to perfection and surrounded by an in house baked bun... that has their logo pressed into it. The small touches made a big impression for me and the cesar salad I got with the burger was excellent too!
The drinks that Cowbell offers are unique and have lots of local flavour. Of course, there are their 7 "Founder's Series" beers on tap and then they have the renegade series, which are small-batch, keg only beers in which the brewmaster uses his creativity to make! I have sampled most of the beers and they have a variety of options for many tastes! My favourite is the original beer they launched with - Absent Landlord, which is a Country Kolsch. So on this night I decided to try one of the cocktails. I had "The Shade Tree" which included: Shindig Huron County Lager (6OZ), Basil Hayden Bourbon (1OZ), Citrus Mint simple syrup, lemonade. It was light and refreshing!
We also shared a Ploughman's Platter, which included: Huron County’s best cured meats, cheese, farm preserves, pickled vegetables & farm-smoked BBQ mustard. It was gone in about 5 minutes. The meat was cured to perfection and the variety of cheeses were all very good. The picked vegetables and mustard were perfect companions to the rest of the platter.
I will definetley be heading back to Cowbell Brewing Co. again soon. If you plan to head there, make sure to book your reservation in advance, they are really busy!
